Our long journey began as a sole proprietorship and gradually become incorporated expanding from a small scale design shop to becoming one of the largest architectural and design firms in the country, providing a wide range of professional services. Our menu of services includes Office Building, Commercial and Residential High rise design, roads, bridges, railway, water supply & sanitation; urban planning, contract administration and supervision, and geotechnical investigation. Our commitment to environmentally friendly design, planning & construction practices, ensures that we are conscious of our impact on our community and consistent in our effort to encompass social good in every project that we touch. Indeed, we strive for excellence, not less and we push to achieve it at every level.
Established in 1996, ETG Designers and Consultants was founded by Dr Eshetu T. Gelan, a visionary architect whose sole focus was to build the first Ethiopian owned architectural and design firm that would scale to become an independent, publicly owned entity, leading the charge in design, construction administration, master plan and urban planning projects.
With over 160 employees and +10 Billion ETB in total value of projects administered, ETG continues to achieve its goal of sustainable growth, engaged in an extensive portfolio of large scale projects ranging from stadium designs to hospitals and landmark high rises, and continues to define the skyline of the capital city, Addis Abeba as well as manage multi industry projects in every region of Ethiopia. Expanded services include roads, bridges and railway design as well as water supply, sanitation and geotechnical analysis.

Center for Excellence in Environment, Design, City Planning and Construction (CeDC) is a research and training center with focus on building the capacity of the Ethiopian design, planning & construction industry. CeDC’s mission is to enable an environment for research and create a platform for sharing best practices. Through a combination of knowledge sharing, research and training CeDC is committed to unlock solutions and strategies for an ethical and excellent industry.
CeDC was established by ETG Designers & Consultants in 2011, as ETG saw a need for a research platform and knowledge sharing mechanism within the industry. CeDC is the backbone of ETG’s CSR work and activities.
